2025 Pilgrimage to Lindisfarne and Iona

Wednesday
May 28, 2025
5:00pm
-Meet at Hotel Indigo Princes Street Edinburgh.
-Walk to Howie’s Restaurant, Waterloo Place (.5 mi) for opening meal.
Thursday
May 29, 2025
-Breakfast is included in your pilgrimage fare.
8:15am
-Meet at Hotel Indigo for travel by coach to Lindisfarne.
10:00am (approx.)
-Arrive at Lindisfarne.
-Enjoy a short walking tour of the island.
-Lunch is not included, but there are a few cafes and restaurants available .
4:00pm
-Depart Lindisfarne for return to Edinburgh.
5:45pm (approx.)
-Arrive in Edinburgh.
-You are on your own for dinner.

Saturday

Time TBD
-Early departure by train, ferry, and coach to Iona, via Oban and Mull.
-At Oban, we will travel as foot passengers on the ferry from Oban to Craignure (on the Isle of Mull). -We then travel by coach from Craignure to Fionnphort (approx. 1 hr 15 mins), and then travel on another short ferry journey over to the Isle of Iona.
-Lunch on the journey is not provided and can be bought either at the ferry terminal in Oban, or on the ferry itself.
-Only residents’ vehicles are allowed on the island, so we then walk to Bishop’s House (.2 mi). The retreat centre staff will probably meet us with a small trailer to take our luggage.

-We will be staying at the Bishop’s House on Iona for our extended pilgrimage.
-All meals are provided, and brown bag lunches can be provided if requested.
-There will be no laundry facilities on Iona, so if you do need to do laundry, please bring a small packet of handwash detergent.
Saturday
June 7, 2025
Time TBD
-Early departure by ferry, coach, and train to Glasgow, via Mull and Oban.
-Arrive Saturday evening at Premier Inn Glasgow – Buchanan Galleries.
7:00pm
-Final dinner together in Glasgow.
